FICS'Mission & Values
Partners in Well-Being - Proyecto Bienestar is a major initiative of Florida Institute for Community Studies, Inc. FICS' mission is to partner with communities to help them achieve their goals through research, education, training, services and the arts.
We were founded in 2002 by a diverse group of activists, students, professors and community members who saw the need to improve communities and build equity and leadership at the local level.

We have provided services since 2004, when we opened our first FICS Multicultural Family Center and now we operate out of the Morgan Woods Park through a rental arrangement with Hillsborough County to hold Afterschool4Success, Summer4Success, health education, community computer lab, family support services, food, information and referral and now Partners has expanded to offer more training across Hillsborough County in English, Spanish, Portuguese and more!
Our People
Our Executive Director is President of FICS as well. Our Board Chair is Carlton Lewis, who is retired from the Armed Services.
